What is Zoning? Is zoning for me and my home? What are the benefits? These are the questions we get from our customers. Questions we hope to answer for you, so that you know if zoning is right for you.
Everybody in Manitoba has a way to heat their home. Some people like the way their home is heated, some have complaints but can simply deal with sweaters and blankets depending on the room they choose to use, and some just can’t stand the way their home is heated. Zoning is mostly for the latter.
So many of our customers didn’t even realize that this was an issue they could fix. We put so much of our resources into our little luxuries in life, but so often our comfort in our own homes goes to the wayside. Many assume that they have tried a new furnace and sales people have tried to convince them of ‘greater comfort’ if they buy their brand, but that never solved anything with regards to the comfort of their home. Two stage furnaces and continuous blower fan operation help, but they could never accomplish what zoning can.
Can we be comfortable in our own homes?? YES.
The idea of Zoning is to ensure that the desired temperature is achieved in different parts of the home. Even if you want different temperatures in different rooms. Much like the new cars giving the passenger controls to their side of the vehicle, except way more accurate lol.
This means each ‘zone’ would have its own thermostat. You can have more than one extra zone in your home, keeping in mind, the more zones you add, the more costs are involved. Depending on your scenario and how easy, or how challenging, your zoning install may be.
So much depends on the proper installation of ductwork throughout your home. The proper sizes, the proper overall design, and the proper installation techniques as well. Usually when dealing with ‘issues’ that customers are having with an ‘uncomfortable’ home, it has to do with a job that wasn’t executed properly in the past. Which is why it is vitally important when hiring an HVAC contractor to install your homes’ climate system, that they are reputable.
Lennox has a zoning system designed for residential homes in mind. They are great for new homes, but they can work very well in heating systems that are existing as well. Our installers at Weather Tech have even installed zoning systems in less than desirable duct systems with very satisfactory results, and without breaking the bank.
Bottom line is, if your home is uncomfortable…contact us for a free in-home consultation. We know how to get it done properly, and our service is unbeatable. www.weather-tech.net
